On July 2, Republic Services is celebrating a very special milestone – the 25th anniversary of its debut on the New York Stock Exchange!
But what does this mean, especially when there are Drivers, Operators and all kinds of employees who have been with the company for over 25 years?
It means that on July 2, 1998, Republic Services began trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the biggest marketplace in the world for investors to buy and sell shares of stock. Most of the largest, best-known, and most prestigious businesses in the world list their shares on the New York Stock Exchange.
Born from a rich history of strategic mergers and acquisitions over the past 40 years, Republic Services was incorporated in 1996, establishing the name we proudly represent. Today, 40,000 employees are putting Sustainability in Action for our customers and communities across the globe.
