The GMC brings together leaders from across the company for an impactful and inspirational event to learn about and connect to our strategy, priorities and one another. The event includes our ROAD-EO National Championship, which celebrates our top drivers, heavy equipment operators and technicians who have proven to be the “best of the best” based on local qualifying events.

Important event details, including arrival information, an itinerary with suggested attire and information on Breakout Sessions is included below.

HELPFUL RESOURCES
Refer to these documents for useful information throughout the event. For easiest access, download them to your phone!

ARRIVAL & TRANSPORTATION DETAILS
If traveling by air, upon arrival at Sky Harbor International Airport, please proceed to the baggage claim area and look for the attendant holding a Republic Services sign. When you arrive at the hotel, please proceed to check in before following the signage to register for the conference.

If you live in the Phoenix area and will be driving to the event, please arrive at the Sheraton Grand (5594 W Wild Horse Pass Blvd) by 4:30pm. You can either valet or self-park. Proceed to hotel check-in before registering for the conference.

Note: Those Phoenix area attendees who have been notified by email that they are staying at the Gila River Hotel should check in there first as directed. If you are unsure of where you are staying, please email Communications@RepublicServices.com.

SUGGESTED ATTIRE
Refer to the agenda above for suggestions related to each event. General guidance is as follows:

    • GMC Daytime Events: nice jeans, polos and casual dresses/skirts
    • GMC Awards Dinner: dressy evening attire, including dresses or nice pants/blouses for women and jackets and dress pants for men (ties not required)
    • ROAD-EO Competition and Awards Dinner: casual, including jeans, polos and shorts
    • Note that average temperatures in Arizona are in the low 70s during the day and 40s at night/early morning during this time of year so you may want to pack a lightweight jacket.
    • The ROAD-EO National Championship will take place rain or shine.

MEDIA & SECURITY REMINDERS
The Teamsters labor union represents some of our employees in the field, and there has been an uptick in union activity at some of our Phoenix area sites. The Teamsters periodically conduct demonstrations at companies to try to publicize their agenda, and there is always a possibility they may do so at Company activities such as GMC & ROAD-EO. If they do, you may see them picketing outside facilities or walking around hotels, parking lots or the ROAD-EO venue. As you come and go, they may try to debate with you or give you literature about their agenda. In these situations, you may feel free to deal with them like any other salesperson you encounter. Managers and supervisors should not engage with union representatives. We encourage you to remain polite and courteous, and consistent with our culture, regardless of how they may act. If any media are present, or a union representative asks you questions, please remember that only members of our External Communications department are authorized to speak on behalf of the Company.

We do not believe there is any reason for you to be alarmed. However, as always, safety is our top priority. We will have several security personnel at all events and hotels, 24/7.

    • If you are approached by Teamsters in any way during the events, please contact Patty Fimbres in Corporate Security at 602-510-0584 (call or text).
    • You may also call Labor Relations at 480-627-2288 with any general questions.
    • As always, direct any media inquiries to media@republicservices.com or 480-757-9770.
