Employees recently volunteered with Dress for Success Phoenix as part of the Women of Republic Business Resource Group (BRG) Charity Championship Event 2024. “I’m proud of how our Republic Services team came together to support Dress for Success Phoenix, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women to achieve economic independence,” said Tanishka S., IT Manager Apprentice. “Helping organizing this event reinforced my belief that even small actions can have a profound impact on someone’s life. It was incredibly rewarding to see how our efforts could potentially change the trajectory of someone’s career and life.”
Volunteers supported Dress for Success in multiple ways!
- Donation Drive: Thanks to the generosity of our colleagues, four donation boxes at HQ were filled with professional clothes and other accessories to give women a new start.
- Resume Reviews & Mock Interviews: Volunteers from the Talent Acquisition team and Republic Services leaders provided valuable feedback on resumes and conducted interview prep sessions for individuals searching for employment.
- Warehouse Support: Volunteers helped sort and unpack over 50 boxes, and arrange around 500 items, including bags, clothes and shoes in preparation for the annual Runway for Success event.
