June 19 is Juneteenth. It marks the end of slavery in the United States. It is also called Freedom Day or Emancipation Day. On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned they were free. This was more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is a time to pause and connect. It reminds us to see each other, listen to each other and care for one another.
Let’s take time to listen and learn. Let’s lift each other up. When we lead with care and respect, we build a place where everyone belongs. We are Better Together.
Why Juneteenth Matters
Juneteenth honors real people and real stories. It reminds us that every voice matters.
It asks us to put people first. Show kindness. Act with care. Help others feel seen and supported.
