Teams Celebrate Rich Heritage of Black History Month

Throughout February, Republic Services’ teams honored and celebrated Black History Month. Employees showcased their dedication to the communities we serve by actively supporting local nonprofits, hosting cookouts in collaboration with Black-owned businesses and restaurants, and arranging visits to culturally significant museums, such as the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Let’s continue to foster an environment of appreciation, respect and celebration for the diverse cultures and backgrounds that make Republic Services a great place to work. It’s with this Human-Centered approach that we can continue creating a workplace where employees can bring their whole selves to work.

Below are just a few examples of teams celebrating the rich heritage and contributions of African Americans to our culture. Thank you for sharing these special moments with us.

Alongside local cuisine, they had Black History Month trivia sessions with exciting prizes for the winners. Lastly, the events supplied resources and shirts from the Black Employee Network Business Resource Group to promote unity and celebration among team members.
