Taking Safety into Your Own Hands[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size='18' font_color='' color='' av-medium-font-size='' av-small-font-size='' av-mini-font-size='' admin_preview_bg=''] Safety is everyone’s responsibility. It’s a message we frequently hear about. But this time, rather than saying that message, we’re going to show you how our Beaumont team is living it.
Local leadership decided it was time for a refresher exercise on safe backing. So, during their morning huddle – and in the rain – managers manned a mirror/camera check station. Talk about engagement! All employees participated… and everyone got a good chuckle at seeing their managers get soaked from the rain.
But most important of all, the exercise helped identify 4 trucks that needed camera adjustments – all taken care of by our maintenance team.
No one asked the local team to set up this check station. Instead, they took ownership of their safety, working on the skills and reminders that their team needed most at the time (in addition to the required monthly Focus 6 trainings, of course).
Take after our friends in Beaumont and execute on the reminders and exercises most beneficial to your team – take safety into your own hands!
*The mirror/camera check station set up by our Beaumont team did not replace their Focus 6 training. Focus 6 training is still required to be completed each month, along with a skills exercise 6 times a year.
