Weekly Topic: Keep Your Eyes on the Road
A visual distraction can be anything that takes your eyes off the road. Whether you’re driving for work, commuting or running personal errands, follow these tips:
- Put the phone away. No text or call is worth the risk. If it can’t wait, pull over somewhere safe first.
- Scan ahead. Check mirrors and blind spots. Watch for pedestrians, cyclists and kids, especially in school zones, neighborhoods and parking lots.
- Set it before you go. Program your GPS, music or podcast before you start driving.
