Students from Raines High School recently took a field trip to Republic’s modern recycling center in North Florida. Thank you to the following team members for their important role in teaching students about the recycling process. Teaching kids about recycling and its impact on protecting our environment will help shape our planet for generations to come.
Division Manager Jason G. gave an overview of what it takes to keep the Recycling Center running and some of the challenges we face when people do not recycle properly
Recycling Auditor Basha R. explained her role in helping to reduce contamination that comes through the line
Operations Supervisor Aubrey J. provided insight into the sorting and recycling process
Helper Cassandra P. showed the students the different belts and their purpose
Administrative Assistant and Tour Lead Tiffany W. presented the life cycle of recycling and got the group excited about the tour with a fun trivia game with prizes. “I always reference the Recycling Simplified website and give each student a Recycling Super Star certificate available on the For Educators tab. Everyone leaves learning something new about recycling.”
The Recycling Simplified Education curriculum contains step-by-step lesson plans for pre-kindergarten through 12th grades with supporting teaching materials, including classroom activities, handouts, virtual field trips and completion certificates. It is available at RecyclingSimplified.com. Visit the site and send the link to a teacher in your life.

We also have materials to make it easier for you to give a recycling presentation as part of a Career Day or Touch-a-Truck event. Visit the Recycling Simplified Education Program (for employees to use in classrooms) SharePoint site for everything you need for an engaging presentation.
Thank you for doing your part to help kids become the next generation of better recyclers! |
