At Republic Services, our top value is Safe: We protect the livelihoods of our colleagues and communities. With well over half of our employees on the road every day, and many who commute to an office or site location, distracted driving is a significant concern. We are always striving to educate employees on road safety and ensure everyone arrives home safely at the end of the day.
November is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, a company-wide effort to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving and eliminate preventable deaths and injuries. The cornerstone of Distracted Driving Awareness Month is Republic Services’ Safe Driver Pledge. Starting November 1, we’re asking all employees and their loved ones to take the pledge and commit to saving lives by never driving distracted. Our goal this year is 20,000 pledges – we’re confident that with your help, we’ll get there!
Please lead by example and make a personal pledge to stop distracted driving. Then, encourage your employees and family to join you in taking the pledge. Everyone who takes the pledge in November will automatically be entered into a weekly prize drawing for a die-cast truck and other great prizes! All employees and family members are eligible to win.
