Self-identification Disability Notice
[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size='16' font_color='' color='' av-medium-font-size='' av-small-font-size='' av-mini-font-size='' admin_preview_bg=''] Republic Services values inclusion and diversity and the various aspects of diversity that all of our over 36,000 employees bring to work every day. Our workforce is diverse in many ways, one of which is the inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Every day employees with both visible and non-visible disabilities make significant contributions to Republic Services. As a company, we are committed to making Republic a great place to work – for everyone. As a federal contractor, we are required by law to periodically survey our employees to ask whether they wish to self-identify as an individual with a disability. This information is important for two reasons: (1) it helps us to understand our employees and evaluate how well we are recruiting, hiring, and retaining individuals with disabilities, and (2) it helps us to maintain accurate records for our reporting obligations as a federal contractor. If you would like to read more about the survey or some of the government’s frequently asked questions and answers about why we are taking a survey, you can find more information at dol.gov/ofccp.
Whether or not you have a disability, we are asking you to go into Workday to update your self-identification response. You can simply click on the picture icon or cloud at the top right, select view profile, either click on the three dots on the top right (mobile) or click on actions directly under your name and title (desktop), go to Personal Data, and Change Self-Identification of Disability (which is the last option). Please review the form, select the appropriate self-identification option, and click Submit. The information provided will be kept confidential.
Although updating your self-identification response is voluntary, we encourage everyone to do so. If you choose to update this information, please do so by November 30, 2019. If you decide not to update your self-identification response, your decision will not be used against you in any way.
Republic Services is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate based on an individual’s disability and we have had a long-standing policy and practice of engaging in a dialogue with employees and applicants who request an accommodation in order to perform the essential functions of their jobs. None of that is changing.
If you need a reasonable accommodation to perform the essential functions of your job, now or in the future, please reach out to your Human Resources Partner. If you do not know who this is, please email accommodations@republicservices.com or call us at 877-783-5476.
Lastly, if at any time, you think you’ve been treated differently because of your disability, we ask that you contact Human Resources, your supervisor, your manager, or any other manager you feel comfortable contacting. You also may call the Aware Line.
Thanks again for your time and consideration, and for taking this opportunity to update your self-identification information.
