Officials near Louisville say that Keith’s actions made a difference earlier this month when he helped rescue a local woman who was trapped in a sewer well. Keith, who stays focused on his surroundings, heard someone calling for help and when he followed the voice, he spotted the woman in the well. Keith had his phone with him and called for help, and first responders showed up within minutes. Fire department crews set up a rescue system, sent a team member 20 feet down into the hole, and pulled the woman to safety. She was taken to the hospital and is in good condition, according to officials.
“This is an excellent example of Keith’s dedication to safety, not only for himself, but others in the community he serves,” said Leslie F., Logistics Analyst.
Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear a Republic Services uniform.
