The very nature of what we do demands an uncompromising attitude toward safety, beginning with our employees and families and extending to our customers and into the communities we serve.
In light of recent safety incidents, we are kicking off a Safe May Campaign to put an added focus on safety. We recognize that safety is not only important in the workplace but also outside of work. Therefore, we encourage you to share the information and resources we will be sharing on Blue Nation Online with your family, friends, and neighbors. By doing so, we can create a safer community for everyone.
There are numerous steps we can take every day to ensure safety, and it all starts with making safety a habit. For example, one action we can take every day to stay safe on the job and outside of work is to always wear a seat belt and ensure that our passengers in the vehicle are wearing a seat belt. “It only takes a second to put on a seatbelt, and it can save a life. Regardless of the distance you’re traveling or your driving ability, one of the safest choices drivers and passengers can make is to buckle up,” says Jim Olson, Vice President of Safety. According to CDC.gov, seat belts save around 35 people every day.
By incorporating safety measures into our daily routines, we can create a safer environment for our people, our customers and the communities in which we live and serve.
