Safe and Happy Holiday Travel

The holiday season has officially begun. Busy roads, distracted drivers and winter weather conditions can put a damper on festivities. To keep you Safe on the road, we have some winter weather tips perfect for your upcoming travel:

Plan ahead and keep calm. The holidays are notoriously the busiest times of the year for travel. Check for road closures and weather conditions before your trip and plan your route accordingly. Give yourself more time to get to where you’re going to account for traffic and inclement weather.

Make sure your vehicle is in peak shape. Check the tread on your tires and replace them if necessary. Make sure your windshield and defrosters are working. Keep extra windshield washer fluid and jumper cables on hand. The last thing you want on a road trip is car trouble!

Pack for warmth. Stock up your car with useful items like blankets, gloves, flashlights, and some food and water. In case you get stuck on the road, you’ll keep warm and nourishment. Also, don’t forget to pack a First Aid Kit just in case.

Think “Safety First.” Winter driving requires extra care. Buckle up, stay alert, and never drive after drinking. Keep your eyes on the road, your hands on the wheel, and your mind on driving.
