Republic Unveils Classic Trucks at Mack Trucks Museum

[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size='16' font_color='' color='' av-medium-font-size='' av-small-font-size='' av-mini-font-size='' admin_preview_bg=''] If you are ever in the Allentown, PA area, make sure to plan a trip to the Mack Trucks Historical Museum and check out the new exhibit titled “Keeping America Clean: The Evolution of the Waste Industry.” The exhibit features three of Republic’s antique Mack trucks and a Recycling Simplified visitor education display. CEO Don Slager, Roy S., Senior Manager, Fleet Maintenance, Javara P., Senior Vice President, Operations Support, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony this week to officially open the exhibit.

Republic’s classic trucks on display include a 1929 Mack AK model with hoist and dump body, a 1951 Mack LF model with a Heil Colecto-Pak body, and a 1965 Mack B53S model with a Dempster Dumpster body.

“Republic Services is proud to be involved in this this unique exhibit, which highlights the advancements of the refuse truck, including enhancing safety features, increasing mechanical lifting and automation, upgrading the cab environment and ultimately improving the work experience for the driver,” said Don. “It also gives us an opportunity to recognize the real everyday heroes of the industry – our drivers and technicians.”
