Republic Services Team Serves 400 Meals to the Altadena Community

Thanks to our team in Huntington Beach, CA, for doing what they do best, going above and beyond to exceed our customers’ expectations, and the community at large. Last week, three team members, including Angie H., Human Resources Manager, Atish K., BU Finance Manager, Dan C., General Manager, and his wife, made the two-hour trip to Altadena to do something positive to serve the fire ravished Altadena community.

“Along with the Bracken’s Kitchen and Food for Less teams, we served over 400 meals to the community. It was a fun and very rewarding day being able to be of service to this devastated community but sobering at the same time.”

Bracken’s Kitchen was a 2022 National Neighborhood Promise grant recipient. The grant funding put them in a position to lease a second building and purchase giant refrigeration and freezer units. This allowed them to accept more food donations and ramp up the numbers of meals provided to the community. According to Dan, the timing of this funding, and other grants they received, was instrumental to their ability to serve the Altadena community while maintaining their normal day to day serving responsibilities. “I am so appreciative that our company selected Bracken’s Kitchen as a grant recipient knowing what they are doing in our local communities and beyond,” Dan said.
