We’re excited to announce that Republic Services has been named a recipient of the 2025 Career Catalyst Award, presented by the Next Generation in Trucking Association.
The Next Generation in Trucking Association is a non-profit trade organization dedicated to engaging and preparing the next generation of trucking professionals. Sponsored by the National Transportation Institute, this recognition highlights fleets that are creating meaningful career paths for young truck drivers, diesel technicians, warehouse associates and others.
This accomplishment is a testament to the meaningful, forward-thinking work happening every day at the Republic Services Technical Institute, where our teams are building opportunities for the next generation of drivers and technicians to learn, grow, and succeed.
Republic Services Technical Institute Programs
Apprenticeship Program – This two-year, tuition-free program is certified by the Department of Labor and Veterans Affairs and prepares candidates for careers as a Heavy Equipment Preventive Maintenance Technician, Marine Technician, or Hauling Division Diesel Technician. The first 360 hours of hands-on training take place at the Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, and participants receive competitive pay throughout the program.
Continuous Development Program – The program offers over 50 classes for technicians of all skill levels, supervisors and managers, and union and non-union employees. Depending on the course, classes vary from 2 to 4 days and are held monthly in-person at the Technical Institute.
Driver CDL Program – This hands-on program, led by certified in-house instructors, covers essential topics like CDL Pre/Post trip inspections, skills course training & road training basics. Upon completion, trainees will be fully prepared to test for their CDL license.
*Supervisor Training Program – This four-day comprehensive training at the Technical Institute will equip new Supervisors with a strong foundation at Republic Services, focusing on their roles and responsibilities in Environment, Health and Safety, compliance, technology, Fleet Operations, Human-Centered leadership concepts and Customer Zeal.
