The theme of this year’s ACT Fleet Forum held at our Commerce City facility was “Streamlining Fleet Electrification Projects,” highlighting the industry’s rapid progress in making the transition to electric vehicles (EV) more efficient and accessible. The event provided a unique platform to showcase Republic Services’ innovative EV fleet program and underscore our company’s commitment to sustainable operations.
A key focus of the forum was the powerful impact of partnerships in accelerating EV adoption. Steve G., Municipal Sales Manager, Mark P., Area Municipal Senior Sales Manager, and Kurt K., City of Louisville, featured Republic’s collaboration with the City of Louisville, Colorado, which has achieved the remarkable milestone of becoming the first municipality in North America to operate an all-electric refuse fleet. “This pioneering effort serves as a testament to the viability and growing accessibility of electric trash and recycle truck solutions have occurred, demonstrating how early challenges are being overcome,” Steve says.
The forum brought together a distinguished group of key partners who are instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation of these advanced fleets. Representatives from Oshkosh Corporation/ McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, Inc., Flipturn, and Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI) were on hand to demonstrate the collaboration required to maintain and optimize electric refuse vehicles. Their presentation and collaboration showcased how to create a comprehensive ecosystem of support that makes large-scale EV deployment possible.
“Organizations such as Capital Sand, City of Denver, City of Fort Collins, Department of Transportation, Denver Airport, Colorado Department of Health, First Student, EV Realty, Kempower, Kenworth, Panasonic were impressed by our fleet and acceleration in the EV field. The event served as a powerful demonstration of Republic’s leadership in sustainable fleet solutions and our dedication to fostering a collaborative future for electric refuse collection,” said Rebecca W., Senior Analyst Electric Vehicle Grants and Funding, and Susan R., Municipal Sales Administrator.
