Republic Services Charitable Foundation Spreads Cheer


The Republic Services Charitable Foundation recently partnered with Cheeriodicals to deliver nearly 700 care packages to hospital workers and pediatric patients in Atlanta, Boston, Phoenix, Seattle and St. Louis.

Republic Services is the first corporate partner to provide care packages to both healthcare workers and hospitalized children during the COVID-19 crisis.

Workers at Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center in Boston, Children’s Hospital of Atlanta and Seattle Children’s Hospital received 350 “Hospital Heroes” tote bags filled with comfort items including a water tumbler, electrolyte powder packets, Epsom salt, snacks, tea, honey, and other comfort items.

The children’s care boxes containing a plush toy, crafts, activity books and games were delivered to 328 pediatric patients at Banner Thunderbird Children’s Medical Center in Glendale, AZ, Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Boston, Mercy Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, and Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The grandmother of a young patient in St. Louis shared a photo and message from the family: “My grandson received one of your gift boxes at Kids Mercy in St. Louis. He had just returned to his room after some tests. The smile on his face rivaled the sun!”
