Republic Recognized as a Leader in Recycling

Our Plano Recycling Center won Recycling Facility of the Year and our Recycling Simplified consumer education campaign won Best Recycling Public Education Program.With America Recycles Day happening this week, what a great time to be recognized as a leader in the recycling industry! It’s no wonder that our Plano Recycling Center won the Recycling Facility of the Year award. The 77,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility serves more than 510,000 residents and 2,500 commercial customers. The Plano facility uses highly advanced sorting technologies to process 350 tons of recyclable material per day – separating material in milliseconds. - Know What to Throw. There are three primary categories of recyclables: paper and cardboard, metal cans, and plastic bottles and jugs. With bottles and jugs, remember to keep the caps on.
- Empty. Clean. Dry.® Don’t allow more than one teaspoon of liquid to remain in a recyclable container.
- Don’t Bag it. Never bag or bundle your recyclables. Items should be placed in the container individually. Plastic bags are one of the biggest contaminants we see at our recycling facilities.
