Republic is Proud to Celebrate Armed Forces Day

On May 21, Republic Services joins the nation to celebrate Armed Forces Day. Unlike Veterans Day and Memorial Day, Armed Forces Day grants us the unique privilege to honor the sacrifices and efforts of the men and women currently serving in the U.S. Military.

Created in 1949, Armed Forces Day was designed to expand public understanding of what type of job is performed and the role of the military in civilian life.

Thank you to every Airman, Coast Guardsman, Guardian, Marine, Sailor, and Soldier for their service.

SUPPORTING ACTIVE SERVICE MEMBERS

As part of our appreciation of military service, we’re proud to announce that starting in the fall of 2022, we’re becoming an industry partner with the Department of Defense’s Skillbridge. This program provides an opportunity for active Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service.
