Reharvest Memphis Highlights Value of Food, Sustainability

Our Memphis team celebrated America Recycles Day in November by sponsoring the Project Green Fork event, Reharvest Memphis, a culinary event to highlight the value of food and sustainability in the local restaurant industry. The event took place on November 17, at Grind City Brewing in Memphis, TN. There were over 200 attendees and the all-female chef lineup prepared small plates from ingredients rescued from local grocery stores. The goal for this event is to become a zero-waste event.

The impressive results from this year’s event included:

  • 56 pounds of recycled materials
  • 50 pounds of composted materials
  • 3.5 pounds of landfill materials
  • 20 pounds of surplus food donated to a local feeding program
