We received some very impressive entries for our America Recycles Day Art Contest – thank you to everyone who participated! The artwork needed to be created from trash or recycled materials. Congratulations to this year’s winners!
Crystal M.
Gate Attendant/Scale Operator, Laughlin, NV
Pumpkin the robot was created by Crystal’s grandchildren Scott and Sophia. Items used include cardboard boxes, plastic cup, plastic bottle, juice boxes, Styrofoam egg container, straws, plastic yogurt containers, paper towel roll, plastic to-go container, foil, and a McDonald;s fries box.
Laura H.
Accountant, Springfield, MO
Items used to make this snowman hanging decoration include old pool noodles, scrap material, cereal box for the hat, and packing material.
Irene L.
Tax Analyst, Phoenix, AZ
Irene creates art using paint and alcohol ink. In the process, the drop cloth “paper towels” turn out very colorful and abstract. These paper towel drop cloths are repurposed to make colorful flower vases.
Mary H.
Account Manager, Chicope, MA
This decorative tree is made from reclaimed pallet wood (shout out to Mary’s husband Rob!)
Alyson T.
Administrative Assistant – Area, Houston, TX
The layered paper shadow boxes are made from old hanging file folders. Instead of discarding the folders, Alyson created pieces of art!
