Recognizing Drivers’ Commitment to Safety in Youngstown, OH

Safe is our top value: We protect the livelihoods of our colleagues and communities. Two drivers in Youngstown, Ohio, are being recognized for keeping their eyes on their surroundings because safety comes first as they perform their daily routes.

Residential Driver David P. noticed one of his customers lying on the ground outside of her house. He stopped his truck and quickly went over to see if he could help. He was able to help the elderly resident up and into her home. Both the resident and her family have sent letters and called in to express their thanks for all his help, with the resident saying she did not know what would have happened to her if he had not acted so quickly.

Residential Driver Eric P.promptly responded to a resident who was crossing the street with her dog and got tangled in the dog’s leash and fell in front of him. She was unable to get up on her own so Eric used his truck to block traffic for the woman while another bystander called 911. Eric stayed with the elderly woman until the ambulance arrived and she was taken to a nearby hospital.

Thank you to both David and Eric for being alert and practicing the principles of THINK, CHOOSE, LIVE – It’s the right thing!
