World Mental Health Day: Taking Care of Yourself

October 6, 2020

In times of significant uncertainty, it’s important for all of us to pay attention to our mental health and well-being. The COVID-19 pandemic and other recent events around the world have heightened many people’s fears and worries. Additionally, hundreds of millions of people globally live with a mental health condition, including:

  • One in five youth have a mental disorder
  • 264 million people live with depression, the leading cause of disability globally
  • 50 million people live with dementia
  • 45 million people live with bipolar disorder

This upcoming Saturday, October 10, is World Mental Health Day. Let’s work together to destigmatize situational and chronic mental health issues — and get people the help they need. Republic cares about you and your family and offers a program to provide additional support when needed.

Republic’s Employee Assistance Program is available to all employees, spouses and dependents. You can talk with a professional 24/7 for confidential counseling to help with a variety of everyday life issues and challenges. Coverage includes up to three one-on-one counseling sessions (per family member, per issue, per year). Get connected with a professional today by calling (800) 331-3684 or visit guidanceresources.com and use Web ID: REPUBLIC.
