Republic Rockstars positively impact the community they serve and go out of their way to brighten someone’s day. We’re thrilled to recognize Drivers Alvin and Denaren G. in Wilmington, DE, as Republic Rockstars for going out of their way to make a birthday extra special for a big fan on their route.
Nine-year-old Davey loves our trucks and our drivers! He understands how each truck operates and knows their features as “side loader, rear-loader and roll-off,” says his father. Every week, Davey waits for Alvin and Denaren to drive up the street with their big blue truck.
“When Davey’s father asked if we could blow our horns on his son’s birthday, we did more than that!” said Ops Support Specialist Stacey D. “In addition to Alvin and Denaren, we sent two roll-off trucks, two supervisors’ trucks and a second trash truck and gave Davey lots of Republic Services swag!”

“A HUGE THANK YOU from our son Davey and our family to everyone involved in making the trash truck drive-by a success for his birthday. He was so excited you did that for him. Davey has been talking about it very often and names every type of truck that went by in order. He asks to see the videos and pictures we took multiple times each day. He has even been wearing the Republic Services logo winter hat outside for school recess recently.”
Thank you to Supervisor Jeff M. (who is celebrating his 25th year work anniversary this month, by the way!) for helping to coordinate the birthday parade. And thank you to Alvin and Denaren for bringing joy to Davey on his 9th birthday.
Q. How long have you worked at Republic?
Alvin: This June will be 15 years!
Denaren: 18 wonderful years.
Q. What’s it like to work with your brother?
Alvin: It’s fun, he is a cool dude so that makes it very easy.
Denaren: Amazing, wouldn’t have it any other way.
Q. What do you like most about your job?
Alvin: Interacting with the customers, completing my route and doing my job.
Denaren: My job
Q. What do you like to do in your free time?
Alvin: Spending time with my kids.
Denaren: Encouraging others to be great!
