Dozens of Republic Services volunteers joined forces for a special National Neighborhood Promise Day in Downtown Phoenix. Volunteers came to support The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to serving people in need as well as providing others with the opportunity to serve.
The organization received a $100,000 National Neighborhood Promise® grant that helped complete their kitchen renovation, adding commercial-grade ovens and a much-needed forklift. This will allow St. Vincent de Paul to continue fighting food insecurity, providing meals to all those in need in the Phoenix Metro area for the next 20 years.
Volunteers had the opportunity to help prepare and serve dinner to patrons in the organization’s family dining room. The group also hosted activities for the children and teens in attendance and even brought a Recycling truck so kids could get a first-hand look at what Republic Services does in the communities where we live and serve.
