To make logging into the network easier – and more secure – Republic is changing password rules.
What’s New
New passwords will need to be at least 10 characters, using 3 of the following 4 types: Uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, special characters.
Good news! With a stronger and more secure password, you’ll only have to reset your password once per year!
This policy change goes into effect on October 24, but you won’t have to take any action until the next time you normally reset your password. Keep an eye out for additional communications that will provide you with more detailed instructions when it gets closer to that time.
Need help creating a secure password? IT recommends using passphrases, which are series of random words or a sentence with a few number or special character substitutions. The more characters your passphrase has, the stronger it is. Passphrases make it easier to remember and type longer passwords. Here are two examples:
