Our Month of Giving is here! Throughout November, we will be highlighting ways to get involved in your community as well as employee spotlights from colleagues.
Are you involved in charity work and want to share your story with us? We want to hear from you! Whether you volunteer or donate to a nonprofit organization, we will be sharing some of the amazing things our employees do for their community. To share your story, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and tell us how you give.
This year we’re putting a special focus on GivingTuesday, which is Tuesday, November 29. GivingTuesday is about how a simple act of generosity can start a movement of kindness for those in need. Learn more about GivingTuesday here.
Want to give but don’t know where to start? Here are some ideas!
Donate to the nonprofit of your choice directly from your paycheck by visiting the Employee Giving Portal or Workday!
Donate your time. Many nonprofits need volunteers now more than ever. Not sure where to start? Email the Foundation at email@example.com for ideas of where to begin.
Give blood. The American Red Cross has donation sites nationwide. Click here for a location near you.
Donate unwanted items to national organizations like Dress for Success, Soles4Souls, and local shelters in your community.
Foster an animal in need. Check out your local humane society for more information.
Clean up your neighborhood. Unfortunately, many neighborhoods, roads, and communities are littered with trash. Grab a trash bag and clean up your community!
Mentor a child. Organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters offer volunteer-supported mentoring between adult volunteers and children.
Donate food. Have extra or unneeded food? Donate food to Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks and programs, which helps fight food insecurity.
Be an advocate. Contact your elected representatives and tell that what matters to you in your community!
