Did you know your trash can help power homes and vehicles? At Republic Services, we’re making it happen by turning landfill gas into clean energy! In 2023, we were involved in 68 landfill gas-to-energy projects, including 5 new Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) initiatives.
Through our Lightning Renewables joint venture with bp’s Archaea Energy, we will bring approximately 40 RNG projects online by 2029! By implementing these solutions, we are creating cleaner air for the communities we serve, we are relying less on fossil fuels and we are creating a more sustainable future!
