Ops Supervisor Jerry M. was recently presented with the Patriotic Employer Award from the Office of the Secretary of Defense by Cpt. Martens and 1st Sgt. Abbott of the U.S. Army.
The Patriot Employer Award is a recognition program within the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an Office of the Secretary of Defense program, that honors supervisors and managers for their support of Guard and Reserve employees, recognizing their efforts in areas like flexible scheduling, time off for deployments, and family care.
Jerry was nominated by Driver Zach D., who joined Republic Services a year ago after his service in the U.S. Army and continues service in the Army Reserve. His award nomination stated in part:
“Jerry has been extremely supportive and a true leader since I started here. His leadership, mentoring and coaching goes above and beyond. Jerry truly cares about every driver, he takes the time to show and appreciate that, and I know it is felt by the other drivers and those around him.”
Jerry has been with Republic Services for over 17 years, with the last four years in his supervisor role.
“We are extremely proud of Jerry’s leadership and this much deserved award,” said Spencer S., Human Resources Manager.
