Following a scheduled United States Coast Guard (USCG) inspection to check equipment and logs as part of a requirement to support marine emergency response, our team in Norfolk, MA, received a call from an energy customer who had received an exercise activation call from the USCG. The exercise scenario included a 120,000-gallon spill in Narragansett Bay, North Kingstown near Quonset Airforce Base.
Project Managers quickly responded to the scene and relayed real-time information to the crew regarding the equipment needed. Captain Vinny and first mate Dom arrived safely at the pier, secured the vessel, and awaited the boom to arrive. Due to weather the exercise ended once all equipment was on scene.
“While all functions of the scenario could not be exercised, the team learned a lot and had a good time doing it. I am incredibly impressed with the teamwork, perseverance as well as an eagerness to continue to learn and grow from this experience.” — Elizabeth M., ES Project Manager
