Republic Services Driver Joseph A. was recognized on the local news station WBRZ for making an impact in his community and forming a special bond with a young boy named Ben and his family. It started with a wave as Joseph made his rounds and has turned into a friendship. Joseph recently surprised Ben with a Republic Services toy truck and regularly lets his new friend honk the horn.
“With everything that’s going on in the world and the country, my son will know that people are good; you can have faith in humanity and compassion for other individuals, there are good people in the world,” Ben’s father says.
If you ask Ben what he wants to be when he grows up, he’ll tell you one of two things: a police officer or a garbage truck driver just like his friend, Mr. Joe.
