Nevada Facility Earns VPP Star Status for Safety Excellence

Our Beatty Facility recently celebrated a huge win! The team was recognized for excellence in safety with the government’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star Status—the highest honor for worksite-based safety and health systems.

The VPP Star program was created by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to recognize stand-out worksites that have comprehensive, successful safety and health management systems. Workplaces that have earned a VPP Star designation have achieved injury and illness rates at or below the national average of their respective industries and have established strong hazard control programs.

Achieving VPP certification is rigorous. “A preliminary inspection was conducted in October 2022, and a final inspection with OSHA representatives from various areas and backgrounds was conducted in May 2023. After a 3-day vigorous inspection, our site was informed of its exceptional presentation and received the approval as the 10th VPP Star recipient in Nevada,” said Chris I., BU Safety Manager.

Last month, the Beatty Facility was presented with a plaque and a Nevada VPP flag in recognition of being a star participant in the NV Voluntary Protection Program. Congratulations on this tremendous honor!
