Meet Our 2025 Supervisor Appreciation Week Winners!

This week we are celebrating Republic Services’ fourth-annual Supervisor Appreciation Week, a time dedicated to recognizing the outstanding leadership and commitment of our Operations Supervisors. General Managers from across the company nominated Supervisors who go above and beyond in Safety, Customer Zeal, Operational Effectiveness and Employee Engagement.

Top Supervisors from each area will receive special prize package and local recognition for their contributions. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took the time to submit nominations!

We are proud to introduce our 16 Supervisor Appreciation Week winners:


NORTHWEST
Brian C., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Homedale, ID
Brian prioritizes safety above all else, leading his team to achieve zero Safety Frequencies year-to-date. Since taking over as Supervisor, he has also maintained zero turnover, a testament to his strong employee engagement and leadership.


WEST
Dean O., Ops Supervisor Landfill | Half Moon Bay, CA
Dean goes above and beyond to create a safe, Human-Centered culture where his team feels empowered to communicate concerns, use their Stop Work Authority and suggest improvements that make the entire facility safer. Known for leading by example, he builds trust with his team and goes the extra mile to keep employees supported and customers served.


SOUTHWEST
Dominici M., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Tucson, AZ
Dom knows the customer is at the heart of the business and works tirelessly to improve the customer experience while building strong, positive relationships with his team. He created a daily communication template now used across the BU and earned an impressive 88 engagement score, proving his team’s respect and appreciation for his leadership.


HEARTLAND
Patches K., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Warrensburg, MO
Patches leads with honesty, respect and Customer Zeal, setting a strong example for her team every single day. She provides thoughtful guidance that drives operational effectiveness and builds a positive, collaborative culture while keeping safety as the top priority for everyone involved.


SOUTH
Ty S., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Amarillo, TX
Ty has proven to be a subject matter expert when it comes to knowing our industrial market. He keeps service levels high and productivity strong while helping maintain a safe environment and is known for his follow-up and follow-through, earning the trust of his driver team.


MOUNTAIN WEST
Marvin M., Ops Supervisor Hauling | North Las Vegas, NV
Marvin drives Safety, Customer Zeal, Operational Effectiveness and Employee Engagement with outstanding results, including zero recordable incidents and the best open market relationship scores in the department. He is beloved by his drivers and is one of the most dedicated leaders on the team.


SOUTHEAST
Sidney M., Ops Supervisor Landfill | Griffin, GA
Sidney has been a breath of fresh air, quickly learning our standards and protocols and demonstrating everything we look for in a leader. He is committed to safety and customer service, building knowledge quickly and working hard to establish trust with his team while encouraging them to be the best they can be.


MID-ATLANTIC
Jeff W., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Boone, NC
Jeff sets the standard for customer service through his professionalism, responsiveness and commitment to excellence, proactively addressing concerns and ensuring every customer interaction reflects our company values. He cultivates an environment of respect, accountability and open communication, celebrating team wins, supporting growth and inspiring his team to deliver exceptional results.


NORTHEAST
Michael L., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Chicopee, MA
Mike exemplifies Customer Zeal by actively listening to feedback, encouraging his team to take ownership of customer interactions and ensuring service meets and exceeds expectations. He fosters a supportive, inclusive environment where employees feel heard and valued, creating an open-door culture that promotes engagement and teamwork.

Matt engages with drivers at a high level, building positive relationships while holding them accountable and coaching them to succeed. He has created a strong culture of safety, with his team reaching 200 days with no claims, and consistently lives our values in his work with drivers, customers and co-workers.

Jim demonstrates an unwavering commitment to safety by leading daily meetings that highlight safety as a core value and by staying present in the field to lead by example. He combines exceptional customer service, operational improvements and outstanding engagement scores of 99 and 98 to build trust with both customers and employees while driving meaningful results.


MID-SOUTH
Derrick L., Ops Supervisor Hauling | Nashville, TN
Derrick goes above and beyond every day, serving as the go-to resource for guidance and support across all lines of business. Known for being fair, consistent and human-centered, he collaborates closely with the sales team and keeps the customer at the heart of every decision.


GULF
Violet W., Ops Supervisor ES | Tulsa, OK
Violet leads a diverse team ranging from chemists to heavy equipment operators, building strong relationships and demonstrating exceptional empathy and team-building skills. She has expanded her leadership beyond the lab into operations, taking on second-in-command responsibilities at the Tulsa facility, developing new treatment recipes, advising sales on pricing and supporting her team’s career growth.


ATLANTIC
Marcus M., Ops Supervisor ES | Greensboro, NC
Marcus begins each day with an interactive safety meeting and spends time on the plant floor recognizing safe behaviors and coaching when needed, keeping his team focused on leading indicators and preventive actions. He drives operational excellence by optimizing plant inventory, flexing labor with inbound volume and using 1:1 meetings and survey feedback to strengthen culture and set his team up for success.


CENTRAL
Mike R., Ops Supervisor ES | Belleville, MI
With over 24 years of service, Mike exemplifies what it means to be Human Centered, Safe and Committed to Serve, taking extreme ownership of his responsibilities and anticipating challenges with forward-thinking solutions. He prioritizes safety and compliance, actively seeks employee feedback and fosters a culture of growth and engagement that has led to promotions and strengthened performance across his team.


PACIFIC
Kevin L., Ops Supervisor ES | Clackamas, OR
Kevin has been a huge asset to the growth of the Clackamas branch, staying engaged with employees and making sure they have what they need to work safely and efficiently. He is always willing to jump in and run loads when the team is short-handed, leading by example and keeping operations running smoothly.
