As we continue our Maintenance Awareness Month celebration, we’re excited to highlight the implementation of MPower Fleet & Equipment Management. This transformative tool revolutionizes how we support our dedicated maintenance teams and is an essential component of Republic Services’ Digital Transformation Strategy. The transition from Dossier to MPower represents Wave 2 of our multi-year Core Systems Modernization program.
Our maintenance teams are the backbone of our fleet and equipment care, demonstrating their expert skills day in and day out to keep our employees safe. With the rollout of MPower, one of the advantages at our maintenance shops will be an increase in efficiency thanks to replacing paper-based processes with cutting-edge digital tools. Tasks such as managing inventory, tracking work orders, conducting inspections, and parts requests will be completed on state-of-the-art tablets and handheld devices. The shift to digital not only improves inventory management and streamlines warranty claims but will simplify work order tracking. This initiative also supports Republic Services’ value of being Environmentally Responsible by significantly reducing paper across the company.
MPower went live for our pilot sites on July 8, and we currently have 136 Clerks, Technicians, Welders, Supervisors and Maintenance Leaders across 5 business units using the system to manage inventory and complete digital work orders using handheld scanners. Over the next few weeks, Heartland and Southwest Areas will go-live with over 800 users and nearly 8,000 assets. In 2025, the project team will deploy MPower to the remaining Group 1 and 2 Areas.
“A big shout-out to our Technicians, Clerks and Maintenance Supervisors during Maintenance Awareness Month for keeping our fleet and equipment safe and sustainable to best serve our customers,” said Chris Hensen, Director of Organizational Change Management.
