Voluntary Disability and Veteran Self-Identification Forms Due September 12

Republic Services has a longstanding commitment to inclusion and diversity. It is an integral part of our culture, where individuals from various backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences are valued and respected. Inclusion and diversity not only promotes innovation and creativity but also cultivates a culture where every voice is heard.

One aspect of a diverse culture is the inclusion of individuals with disabilities, which can include visible and non-visible disabilities. The CDC shared that 1 in 4 adults have a disability. Employees with disabilities are valued and make significant contributions to Republic Services every day.

As a federal contractor, we are required by law to periodically survey our employees to ask whether they wish to self-identify as an individual with a disability. This information is important for two reasons:

  1. It helps us to understand our employees and evaluate how well we are recruiting, hiring, and retaining individuals with disabilities; and
  2. It helps us maintain accurate records for our reporting obligations as a federal contractor.

What You Need to Do

As part of our commitment to equal employment opportunity and to comply with federal laws, we are asking employees to go into Workday and update their voluntary Disability and Veteran self-identification forms. The information you provide is kept confidential and disclosed only in response to a federal reporting or legal obligation.

The forms are due Thursday, September 12.

Your voluntary participation is encouraged as we need this information to assess our progress toward achieving equal opportunity for veterans and people with disabilities and for making our workplace an even better place for all of our employees. Please take the time to self-identify through Workday by Thursday, September 12 and we will continue doing everything we can to support you.
