Las Vegas Team Participates in “Day of Gratitude” Veteran Event

On June 8, our Las Vegas team supported a “Day of Gratitude” at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The event welcomed over 15,000 Veterans and their families, featuring vendors offering health screenings, mental health services, disability benefits, job opportunities, and assistance with Veterans Affairs matters.

Our team hosted a booth to discuss job opportunities and the application process at Republic Services with veterans. The team also shared information about our V.A.L.O.R. Business Resource Group, the Polymer Center, and gave out some awesome raffle prizes!

This was the largest appreciation event for Veterans in Nevada history with roughly $2 million worth of goods-in-kind, including shoes, toys, and household items distributed. An additional $1 million in goods was given to Veterans and military families who couldn’t attend.

“As a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the V.A.L.O.R. BRG, I was very honored to represent Republic Services at this amazing event honoring Veterans and their families. Working for a company that honors and supports our veterans is incredibly motivating and fulfilling,” said Steve O., Community Relations Manager.
