Large Container Driver Hollie B. Recognized for Going Above and Beyond

On the job in Church Hill, TN, Driver Hollie B. performed an act of kindness that did not go unnoticed. This is an excerpt from an online submission by a local resident:

“About six weeks ago, she [Hollie] was at a stoplight when my 79-year-old father-in-law turned the corner and his tailgate fell open causing his walker and bags to fall out of the back of his truck. She pulled up to the walker that was in her path, turned on her emergency lights and got out to gather the walker and bags. She loaded his belongings back into his truck, told him to have a great day and went about her way. I have seen her many times since then. She is always smiling, shows respect for other drivers and seems to have a genuine care for people. For example, I saw her on one occasion driving so politely behind a funeral precession to be sure they were given the respect they deserved. I would like to say thank you to Hollie for being such a big help. We definitely need more people like her in the world.”

Hollie has been a Republic Services driver for nearly a year. What she loves most about her job is the people. “We care about each other, are willing to help whoever may need it, and are always concerned about you if you are sick and happy for you when something great happens. You are treated as if you are family here.” Hollie says. When asked about the small ways she goes above and beyond in her community, she says she tries to smile and keep a positive and friendly attitude. “I try to make sure I help if I see someone in need even if it’s getting them a cold Gatorade on a hot day because there may come a day that I am the one in need of a stranger’s help.”

Hollie’s commitment to going the extra mile makes a big difference for her team and the whole community and is another reason why our employees are so awesome! Way to go, Hollie!
