Lake Havasu Team Honored with “Ethics In Business” Award

The Lake Havasu City division in Northern Arizona recently received the Ethics in Business Award from the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce. The team was recognized for their “efforts in keeping the community clean, and their partnership and collaboration with the community for lake and desert cleanup programs,” as quoted in River Scene Magazine. This honor is awarded to one business each year in the Lake Havasu area that demonstrates a commitment to business ethics, exemplifies honesty and integrity, and participates with corporate or community philanthropy efforts.

We reached out to Niki N., Territory Executive Sales, who submitted Republic Services for the award. Niki shared that our ethical culture permeates throughout the business unit and it shows through our drivers’ care for our customers, the team’s community involvement, and regular discussions about ethics throughout the business unit.

Niki shared that the team’s commitment to ethics and customer zeal were key to winning the award.  According to Niki, “in this area, many of our customers are small business owners and we treat them as human first.” Frontline employees have a saying in Lake Havasu, “there is no excuse to not pick up the trash.” This award recognizes everyone’s efforts to maintain our highly ethical and compliant culture.
