Q&A with Women of Republic Member, Karie C.
[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size='16' font_color='' color='' av-medium-font-size='' av-small-font-size='' av-mini-font-size='' admin_preview_bg=''] When Women of Republic launched at the corporate offices last year, more than half of the women joined – including Karie C., Manager, Operations Execution for National Accounts. Read on to find out how she’s been involved with the group so far, how it has made a difference for her, and why she encourages all women – and men! – at Republic to join. Why did you join Women of Republic?
After learning more about the group from one of the leaders, it sounded like a really good opportunity to meet new people and be a part of something I care about. I went through a divorce last year and really needed something like this in my life at the time.
What has been your involvement so far?
I’m currently the lead on the membership committee. I record all memberships and provide data regarding attendance at events and our overall membership. We are using the data to see where our members are located and determine what Areas the memberships are greatest in. I also help with events, leading the sign ins and creating QR codes for quick check ins.
How do you feel like you’re making an impact at Republic through this Business Resource Group?
As this is the first year, we are still making adjustments and building the group. I’ve been helping get things set up in our new communications platform, Diverst, for our companywide launch. The biggest impact I feel I’ve made personally was speaking at a recent Safety event about an experience that I went through earlier this year when I found myself in a dangerous situation. I hope that other employees can learn from my experience.
How has being a member of Women of Republic made a difference for you?
I’ve met a lot of new people and have formed new relationships. Personally, it’s been a great experience to be a part of something where I feel I can make a difference and empower others while empowering myself.
What are you most looking forward to in the next chapter of Women of Republic?
I’m looking forward to seeing the impact of the changes that Diverst has brought us, especially as we roll-out nationwide. We are going to continue to build and get the word out there to recruit more members and build a strong group. Women of Republic is going to do amazing things and I am excited to be a part of it!
What would be your advice to someone who is thinking about joining Women of Republic?
I would tell them that it’s a great way to network and meet new people! The group focuses on key lessons of empowerment and self-sufficiency. We encourage men to join and be a part of the group as well, so we can all learn how to work better together and embrace the traits that may make us each different and unique! Every project and event has been a new lesson, something strong and empowering, and overall very FUN.

Join Women of Republic!
[/av_textblock] [av_textblock size='16' font_color='' color='' av-medium-font-size='' av-small-font-size='' av-mini-font-size='' admin_preview_bg=''] We’re excited to announce that we’re officially launching our first Business Resource Group (BRG), Women of Republic, companywide! All employees are invited to join Women of Republic and take advantage of the personal and professional development opportunities the group has to offer. This is just the first of many BRGs that will be available to employees in the coming months and years, so stay tuned!Women of Republic offers all employees (both women and men) the opportunity to influence business decisions, connect with colleagues from across the country and develop their professional skills. Since the group launched to our corporate offices last year, Women of Republic members have helped improve our website’s Chatbot that helps customers find answers to common questions and provided feedback on building better messaging around disposing of glass. These types of projects give employees the chance to have their voice heard, while working together with coworkers they may not otherwise meet.
Additionally, Women of Republic will offer opportunities for professional development and learning about new ways to grow your career. Members will engage on topics of personal growth, such as setting goals, personal finances and safety. To help facilitate this communication, we have rolled out a new online platform, Diverst, to connect employees throughout the country and share news, projects, development opportunities and more.
