Across the country, we had over 30 employees visiting schools and teaching lessons from the Recycling Simplified education program — a free PreK-12 curriculum that Republic Services launched this year. The program is an extension of Republic’s Recycling Simplified campaign, which offers simple tips to help consumers become better recyclers in their communities.Here’s a look at some of the employees who joined us in the classroom on America Recycles Day!

Recycling Certified Training for Employees

On America Recycles Day, we’re launching a new training through Workday that is an extension of Republic’s Recycling Simplified campaign, which offers simple tips to help consumers become better recyclers in their communities. The new training is designed to help all of us become better recyclers at home and at work and reduce contamination rates. After completing the training, you can help others be better recyclers, too!
Employees with a Company email will receive the course assignment through Workday on Nov. 15. This training is optional, but encouraged, for frontline employees.

The students sitting in classrooms right now are learning habits that will shape the way they recycle in the future. To make sure we are setting them up for success, we’ve developed a free, downloadable recycling curriculum for teachers to use in their classrooms, available at RecyclingSimplified.com. Visit the site and send the link to the teachers in your life.
Did someone say Career Day? We also have materials to make it easier for you to give a classroom recycling presentation. Visit our new SharePoint site for everything you need for a fun and engaging presentation. There are lesson plans for students in grades preK-12. After your presentation, complete the Post-Event Form so we can give you credit. We might even feature you right here on Blue Nation Online, so if possible, take a few photos of your event.
