The Engineering and Landfill Operations team in Jefferson City, Missouri, recently hosted a field trip for 6th graders attending Trinity Lutheran School. Students got a first-hand look at the landfill and learned about landfill operations – and best of all, they were challenged to build their own model of a landfill focusing on liner systems, density and operating in an environmentally responsible way. This year marks the ninth year that the team has held the in-person classroom at the Jefferson City Landfill. Way to go!
