After 38 years of service, Heavy Equipment Operator Joe R. is retiring from the Apache Junction Landfill. To commemorate Joe’s decades of service, Republic dedicated the Apache Junction Landfill Scale House in his honor. This is a well-deserved honor and one his team was happy to give him!
During the dedication event, Joe talked about the highlights of his career. He shared that he loved working with everyone at the landfill, meeting new people and interacting with customers.
Throughout his 38 years with Republic, Joe rarely missed a day of work. In this time, he received several recognitions through the company’s Dedicated to Safety and Dedicated to Excellence safety programs.
“We can teach people how to use the equipment, but we can’t teach people character and integrity. Joe is the model of that. If we had a hundred more of him, we’d be very happy people,” said Jim G, General Manager for East Phoenix.
