Hispanic Heritage Month: Industry Leader Series, Part I – Camila Simon

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be highlighting Hispanic and Latino leaders who share our value of being Environmentally Responsible. Learn how they are taking action to improve our environment.

Camilla Simon is the Executive Director of HECHO (Hispanics Enjoying Camping, Hunting, and the Outdoors). HECHO focuses on land conservation, and Simon has been leading the charge in advocating for conservationists to include Hispanic and Latino generational ties to the land.

She also formed a partnership in 2018 between HECHO and the National Wildlife Federation to increase visibility and resources for Hispanic and Latino conservation leaders nationwide and bring a Hispanic/Latino perspective to the forefront of national conservation campaigns. Her work has helped conservation efforts today and for generations to come.

Stay tuned for more stories highlighting the contributions and influence of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the history and culture of the United States.
