Black History Month is celebrated in February, and at Republic Services, we are proud to honor the rich heritage, achievements, and contributions of our Black community. Black History Month is a time to reflect, learn and appreciate the diversity that makes our company better.

Here are some meaningful ways we can collectively celebrate Black History Month:
- Support Black-Owned Businesses: Explore and support Black-owned businesses in your community. You can do this by organizing team outings and promoting these businesses among your teams, friends or family.
- Community Outreach: Community service projects that uplift and support local Black communities. Volunteering together reinforces our commitment to service.

Black Employee Network Black History Month Initiatives
We are thrilled to announce that the Black Employee Network (BEN) is gearing up for an exciting celebration of Black History Month!
To kick off Black History Month, BEN will run a Black History Fact campaign on DIVERST, highlighting a significant moment or individual in Black history.
Scheduled to release later in the month, BEN will launch its inaugural Black Employee Network newsletter. This publication will serve as a platform to showcase the achievements, stories and experiences of our Black employees.
Lastly, BEN will spotlight talented Republic Services employee Kimberly G., who authored, “Empowered to Win – Overcoming the Impossible.” She will talk about her journey and the inspiration behind her story.
As we embark on this month-long celebration, we encourage everyone to actively participate in BEN’s initiatives and embrace the opportunity to learn, celebrate and grow together as a diverse and inclusive organization.
