Learn About Our $3 Million Effort to Help Small Businesses

July 13, 2020

For the past several weeks, Blue Nation Online has highlighted all of the great work being done by our three longstanding national nonprofit partners – Rebuilding Together, Habitat for Humanity International and NeighborWorks America. Through our Committed to Serve initiative, each of these organizations will receive a $1 million grant from the Republic Services Charitable Foundation that will be used to fund small business revitalization projects identified by their affiliate organizations across the country.

This is the last in the series and today we are highlighting our charitable partner Habitat for Humanity International, a global non-profit organization that partners with people in our community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat operates in 50 states, and 70 countries, providing shelter for more than 29 million to-date.

Neighborhood revitalization is also an important focus for Habitat for Humanity.  In 2018, we partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis and along with our Memphis team, supported the revitalization of the Castalia Heights neighborhood.  This work included critical repairs to over 55 homes in the neighborhood as well as major landscaping efforts, installation of solar lights for safety and other beautification efforts.
