Don Slager, former President & CEO of Republic Service, was honored by the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) earlier this month with induction into its Hall of Fame. Slager, whose career started as a driver more than 40 years ago, oversaw dramatic growth and expansion of Republic Services, now the second-largest company in the industry in North America by revenue.
“It’s amazing what can be accomplished when three simple things happen,” Slager said during his induction speech. “One, you embrace accountability. Two, you show up every day, every single day.
