Finding Top Talent for the Job in Vidalia, GA

Covid-19 brought staffing challenges across the nation, especially for workers deemed essential, including our drivers and other frontline employees. Like many other leaders, Amie V., Operations Manager, was on a “highspeed, two-year roller coaster” to find and retain top talent. As part of their new hiring strategy post-pandemic, Amie and her leadership team look for diverse backgrounds in their search for candidates and focus on people with equipment operating experience as well as driving.

“Our thought is that operating mixer trucks and striping trucks, etc. translates nicely to trash trucks, as working the various lever controls is as important as driving well. We are also more focused on finding candidates with positive dispositions and displays of good integrity and teamwork. We are looking for people who will really live the Republic values daily and catapult our team to the next level.”
