Everyday Ethics: Reporting Incidents

At Republic Services we are Safe – we protect the livelihoods of our colleagues and customers.  This means we are all expected to act ethically and make the right choice – every day, every time. This includes when and how we report incidents.

Sometimes we encounter situations where we are unsure if we should report. It’s important to uphold integrity in these situations and you report incidents immediately, no matter how small they may seem. The Company expects us to make the right choice and handle it the right way.

Failing to report incidents could lead to serious consequences for you and the Company. At Republic Services, we do not want employees to compromise Company policies, standards, or the law. If you’re ever unsure of how to handle a situation, you should talk to your supervisor, another manager, HR partner, the Legal department, the Ethics & Compliance team, or report anonymously through the confidential AWARE Line. You can also review our Business Code of Ethics and Conduct for guidance on how to handle difficult situations.
