Everyday Ethics: AI Can Help Us Work – Let’s Use it the Right Way!

AI can be a great helper, but we must use it responsibly, ethically and safely. Republic Services has rules and resources in place to help employees understand our expectations.

Make the Right Choice:

Do:
  • Use only AI tools that the Company has approved. You can find the approved list and other resources on our AI Hub.
  • Check AI’s work; employees must review AI outputs before we use it.
  • Continue to use approved forms, company documents, and required processes.
  • Use good judgement; verify important information through official Company channels
  • Follow our rules in the Acceptable Use of AI Policy available in our Policy and Procedures Manual.
Don’t:
  • Put private or confidential information into any AI tool (no customer data, no employee data, no personal info).
  • Let AI make final decisions. People make final calls.
  • Use AI to generate legal, business, or ethics advice.  For these matters, consult with the appropriate subject matter experts within Republic.
